This Years Seminar Topic
Civil Works projects play a critical role in the safety and protection of property, infrastructure, and human life. The Ohio River Valley is home to many important and interesting projects that are designed to benefit the area and its residents. The Ohio River Valley Soils Seminar (ORVSS) LV aims to highlight these projects and what Geotechnical Professionals can learn from them to continue to create effective infrastructure that serves Ohio River Valley communities.
The Kentucky Geotechnical Engineering Group (KGEG) is issuing a Call for Abstracts with the emphasis on “Civil Works” for the 55th Annual ORVSS. Presentation subjects should focus on topics and case histories highlighting Civil Works projects in and around the Ohio River Valley. Topics could include, but are not limited to: flood risk management, public infrastructure, levees, locks, dams, utilities, water supply, and wastewater. Abstracts will be selected to be presented during the seminar with papers and/or presentations to be distributed to attendees as part of the seminar proceedings. The goal of ORVSS is to provide geotechnical engineers, geologists, contractors, suppliers, and other practitioners an opportunity to share insights, knowledge, and experiences and to continue the advancement of our professional field.
